About

A serious business in a discreet category

Adult products play by their own rules. Not every product is allowed on every marketplace, listings and photos go through moderation, hygiene rules mean much can't be returned, and buyers expect discreet packaging and choose by reviews.

SexToySeller is an educational simulator that models all of this the way it really works. It's made by Denis Zheleznyak — an entrepreneur who builds a business in this industry and knows it from the inside.

A discreet category — the same laws of money: margin, turnover, cash gap.

How a run goes

Seven decisions everything depends on

This is the seller's path in the game — and pieces of its future interface. Numbers are indicative: the Adult catalogue is being calibrated on real batches.

Step 1 · Niche

Pick what to sell

Nine products, from the core range to costumes. Some niches are crowded with competitors, some are empty. An analytics service shows demand and competition — with an error margin — and costs $50 a month. The first week is free.

Step 2 · Sourcing

Order a batch from China

A factory sells from 500 units at the base price; a reseller sells any amount, 20% dearer. Pay 30% when you order and 70% before shipping. Production takes about 15 days, the sea about 60.

Step 3 · Time

Time never stops

One real day is ten game days. The business keeps going while the tab is closed: the ship sails, wages come due. Tired of waiting? Skip to the next event. Anything important arrives as a push.

Step 4 · Listing

The listing sells the product

No listing, no product on the marketplace: $15 per marketplace. In the 18+ category, photos go through strict moderation. Description, photos and video lift sales, but they go stale and need refreshing. Ads and self-buyout push a product — if you switch them on at the right time.

Step 5 · Cash gap

Money runs out before it comes in

Your money is in the batch and nothing is coming in yet: wages from day 30, rent from day 90. The marketplace pays 7–14 days after a sale. Cash below zero for 30 days — bankruptcy.

Step 6 · Luck

Life gets a vote

A ship can be five days late, a batch can be up to 3% defective, a new competitor can enter your niche. Your bills still arrive exactly on time. After the run, the debrief separates bad luck from bad decisions.

Step 7 · Category rules

The 18+ category plays by its own rules

Not every product is allowed on every marketplace, listings and photos are reviewed for 1–3 days, hygiene rules mean much can't be returned, and buyers expect discreet packaging. A mistake in a listing doesn't mean fewer sales — it means zero.

Range

Nine products — nine different businesses

From mass-market lines to niche ones. Each product has its own demand, seasonality and competition: profit depends on the choice more than on the price.

Mass-market

Core range

High demand and fierce competition. The winner holds the price and the rating.

Seasonal

Accessories

Sales peak before Valentine's Day. Miss the ordering window and the batch waits a year.

Seasonal

Costumes

Demand climbs for Halloween and the holidays. The rest of the time — stock and frozen cash.

Consumable

Care & lubricants

Modest margin, but steady repeat purchases. The most predictable cash flow.

An analytics service shows where it's crowded and where it's open. It costs money — but less than a mistake.

Mechanics

The mechanics of a real business

Every mechanic is something a real seller in this category runs into.

Sourcing & the cash gap

A deposit to the factory, 15 days of production, 60 days at sea. Your money is tied up long before the first sale.

Niche analytics

The service shows demand and the number of competitors. Without it, picking a product is a lottery.

18+ category rules

Marketplaces check listings and photos more strictly. Fail moderation — no sales.

Returns & hygiene

Hygiene rules mean most products can't be returned — but an unhappy buyer will leave a review.

Rating & trust

In a discreet category buyers choose by reviews. The rating is a listing's main asset.

Goal: pay back $20,000

Your family invested in you. Grow the business until your cash, minus debt, is back to $20,000.
